Implanon is a progestogen-only contraceptive implant. This website contains Implanon product information and resources that are intended for UK healthcare professionals. Implanon is a type of long-acting reversible contraception that adds to the many contraceptive methods available to women today and also general information for women and members of the public. The Implanon implant consists of a single rod that is inserted just under the skin on the inside of the upper arm and releases low daily doses of etonogestrel for up to 3 years.
